Best Same-Game Parlay Week 6 bets for Cowboys vs. Chargers: 3-Leg Parlay Pick (+1000)

Passing TDs

I like giving nicknames to some of my same-game parlays, and this one is going to be called the “Dak Prescott Let the Haters Talk Parlay.” Dallas QB Prescott is going to have a huge game on Monday night when he goes up against a Chargers secondary that allows the NFL’s most passing yards. The Cowboys will see plenty of red-zone opportunities against Los Angeles’ defense, and they will capitalize on those chances, courtesy of Prescott’s throwing arm.

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Dak Prescott 3+ Passing Touchdowns (+265)

Passing Yards

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has yet to throw for either 300 yards or three touchdowns in a game this season. All of that will change on Monday night. The Cowboys offense has too many weapons that have yet to be utilized properly in 2023, and this could be just the game to get those weapons going.  With wide receivers CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup on the roster, along with tight end Jake Ferguson, this Cowboys team is just too talented not to be performing at a higher level.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: Dak Prescott 305+ Passing Yards (+230)

Jake Ferguson

The Dallas Cowboys’ 36.84 percent red-zone efficiency is really bad, particularly since this team gets to the red zone so easily. On Monday night, Dallas will have several red-zone opportunities, so look for the Cowboys to call on tight end Jake Ferguson to punch one into the end zone. Through five games this season, Ferguson has 11 red-zone targets, which is the same amount as wide receivers CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Brandin Cooks combined.

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Jake Ferguson Anytime Touchdown (+200)

Week 6 of the NFL season is set to close out with a bang, thanks to a great Monday Night Football matchup. The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Inglewood, Calif., to face the Los Angeles Chargers in a highly anticipated game between two teams expected to make the playoffs. The Cowboys were humbled by the San Francisco 49ers 42-10 last week in a primetime game on NBC. The Chargers, coming off their bye week, are looking to extend a two-game winning streak that includes victories over Minnesota and Las Vegas. This game is pivotal for both teams, since they each sit in second place in their respective divisions behind first-place teams that don’t often lose. With that fact in mind, let’s dive into our predictions for this Monday Night Football matchup.

Cowboys vs. Chargers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NFL Odds Week 6

Moneyline: Dallas Cowboys -130, Los Angeles Chargers +110
Spread: Cowboys -2 (-110)> , Chargers +2 (-110)
Total: Over/Under 50.5 points

Cowboys at Chargers Preview

The Dallas Cowboys’ kryptonite might well be the 49ers, but those planning to wager on Monday night’s game should not let what happened in San Francisco affect their judgment when it comes to Dallas. The players who got routed by the 49ers were not the Cowboys that we all know. In addition, all four of the Chargers’ games this season have been tight ones, because Los Angeles’ defense has been a liability that allowed opponents to keep the score close. The Chargers average 27.5 points per game -- the seventh-highest total in the NFL -– so they are not a team that should routinely find itself in games decided by a one-score differential, but that has been the case all season.

Cowboys vs. Chargers Predictions and NFL Picks Week 6

The Cowboys couldn’t do anything right last Sunday night against the 49ers. As is customary for a losing quarterback, Dak Prescott received most of the blame for his team’s 32-point margin of defeat. However, none of his critics should be asking themselves if Prescott is really the quarterback of the future for the Cowboys, nor should they be wondering if he has what it takes to win a Super Bowl.  Prescott deserves far more respect than that, and he will silence his critics on Monday night. Through this season’s first five games, Prescott hasn’t played up to his potential. He has yet to throw for more than two TDs in a game, and his best passing-yardage performance was 261 against New England. Fortunately for Prescott and the Cowboys, the Chargers’ defense allows opponents more passing yards per game than any other NFL team. Los Angeles’ run defense ranks in the middle of the pack, but its passing defense is practically non-existent. Look for Prescott and the Dallas offense to get going on Monday Night.

The Chargers, on the other hand, can be expected to focus on establishing the run in this game, because the Cowboys defense – despite stacking the box against 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey last week – hasn’t been able to consistently stop the run. Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is back in the lineup and healthy, so fans can expect to see a heavy dose of him on Monday night. The Cowboys will also face a challenge keeping Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert quiet, even though Dallas has the NFL’s second-ranked pass defense. The Cowboys’ problem on Monday will be Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, who is a pure matchup nightmare for any opposing cornerback. This will be a great game to watch and might end up being one the best on the Week 6 schedule. Look for the Cowboys to prevail in this one, because the Chargers offense won’t be able to make up for the mistakes made by their secondary. On top of that, this Cowboys defense should be coming to California fired up and ready.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys ML (-130)

Two top-10 offenses will be on the field Monday night, which is why this game should be so exciting for those who watch it. Both offenses will have scoring opportunities. The Cowboys get to face a non-existent secondary, and the Chargers take on a defense that struggles with the run. Look for each team to exploit the other’s weaknesses, which should result in some good drives in both directions. The over/under total for this game is set at 50.5 points, which is a fair number because both offenses are very good. However, if one or two things go wrong, or at least one quarter features excellent defense, then the over on this total could be hard to reach. That said, I don’t see a lot of offensive stalls in this one, and I suspect that whichever team gets the ball last is likely win this game. Give me the over on this high total and then get your popcorn ready so you can enjoy the show.

The Pick: Over 50.5 (-120)

Best NFL Player Prop Bets for Cowboys vs. Chargers: Sunday Night Football Week 6

Dak Prescott

Quarterback Dak Prescott heard all the criticism that came his way this week – as well as all season -- and he’s going to silence those critics on Monday night. I wouldn’t use weaker quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill of Tennessee or Aiden O’Connell of the Raiders as measuring sticks, but when those two faced this Chargers defense, each one threw for nearly 250 yards. The only quarterback at or above Prescott’s level that the Chargers secondary faced this year was Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa, who threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns against them. Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins also had a big day against this Los Angeles secondary with 367 passing yards and three touchdowns. Prescott has yet to pass for more than 300 yards in a game this season, but he will do so easily on Monday night. He’s also certain to throw some TD passes.

The Pick: Dak Prescott over 254.5 Passing Yards (-115)
