The Clippers’ hard luck with injuries in the postseason continued on Thursday night when Kawhi Leonard was ruled out hours before the game due to a knee sprain. Ty Lue’s roster is already a man down with Paul George sidelined for the series’ duration, so having to sit Kawhi, too, is far from the ideal scenario Clippers fans hoped for when the series returned to California.

After upsetting the Suns in Game 1 on the road, the Clippers have now dropped back-to-back games – falling by five points in their Game 3 home opener. That sets up a nail-biter for Game 4 that could leave them on the brink of elimination.

Of course, the main storyline will again be Leonard’s absence. He was ruled out late Friday night with the same knee issue, which could be devastating for the Clippers’ chances in the series.

Let’s keep that in mind as we consider some NBA same game-parlay picks.

Suns vs Clippers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under – NBA Playoffs Betting Lines 4/22

Moneyline: Suns (-211), Clippers (+175)
Spread: Suns -5.5 (-106), Clippers +5.5 (-115)

Suns vs Clippers Injury Report

The Clippers will likely continue to be without Paul George, unless he somehow turns things around and can play in the series. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted before the series opener that George was “likely to miss” the entire series. Although that’s hardly an official announcement, George is not expected to play. The Clippers, as mentioned, will also be forced to go without Kawhi Leonard for a second straight game due to Leonard’s knee problems.

Suns vs Clippers Prediction

Without Kawhi or Paul George on the floor, the Clippers struggled to contend with the Phoenix Suns’ star power in Game 3. When Russell Westbrook had to guard Kevin Durant, the Suns drove their offense through Devin Booker. If Westbrook was on Booker, it was Durant taking the shots.

Booker dropped 45 points while shooting 3-for-7 from 3-point range, while Durant had 28, and Torrey Craig once again shot a high percentage of 3-for-4 from deep with an overall 15-point contribution.

The Clippers were without their two biggest stars, but Norman Powell came into the starting five and took over the game. Powell was 15-for-23 shooting and dropped seven 3-pointers on his way to a 42-point night -- one shy of his career-high 43.

With Powell’s impressive contribution, the Clippers were able to stay in this game despite missing the star power of Kawhi and Paul George. The Suns still have trouble with their defensive rotations -- which is why we saw Powell make seven 3-pointers -- and Phoenix’s spacing on the defensive end is a mess.

With Kawhi out due to a knee injury, the Suns now have a massive advantage and are clear favorites heading into Game 4. Although they won Game 3 against a heavily wounded Clippers team, I previously had doubts about Phoenix's readiness for a serious playoff push. However, without Kawhi, I don't believe the Clippers have enough to match the Suns, and I expect Phoenix to win this series in five games or fewer.

The Suns defense needs improvement after allowing 124 points in Game 3 against a backcourt that included the 2023 versions of Russell Westbrook and Norman Powell. No offense to Westbrook but he is not the scoring threat he once was. Nevertheless, the absence of Kawhi is a significant blow to the Clippers' chances of advancing in the playoffs.

Best NBA Same Game Parlay Picks Today for Suns vs. Clippers - NBA Playoffs Game 4: 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+900)

Russell Westbrook Points Total

To kick off this NBA same-game parlay picks, we focus on Russell Westbrook’s points total for Game 4. While Westbrook might not be the same guy he was back in 2016 at the very peak of his NBA career, he seems to have discovered a new source of confidence while playing for the Clippers.

He has found a little rhythm from 3-point range, shooting 6-for-16 in the series so far and going 3-for-7 in Game 3 when Kawhi was sidelined. Westbrook’s 30-point night almost enabled the Clippers to pull out a win, and he has averaged 29 points per game through the past two games of the series.

As the series goes on, the Clippers seem to have put more and more faith in Westbrook. With the franchise down 2-1,and a crucial game upcoming on their home court without Kawhi, I’m backing the former MVP to call his own number and put up some points once again.

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Russell Westbrook 20+ Points (-270)

Devin Booker Points Total

Devin Booker is averaging over 36 points per game in this series, and those numbers are increasing with each game. Without Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers will continue to struggle to contain Booker defensively. His speed to the basket and aggressive ability to drive inside will make him a factor in Game 4.

Norman Powell did a phenomenal job scoring in Game 3, but he’s not the same player as Leonard defensively. Booker will likely continue to put up a lot of points for the Suns in what could be a high-scoring game.

Leg 2 SGP Pick: Devin Booker Over 30 Points (-130)

Total Points

Kawhi Leonard seems to be one of the only players in this series who plays a lot of defense. Without him in Game 3, the teams started trading fast-paced offensive possessions, and there was plenty of scoring as a result.

Game 3 totaled 253 points. The Suns allowed 124 points against a Clippers team missing its two biggest stars, and Phoenix has had plenty of its own problems defensively in this series.

The Clippers, on the other hand, just don't have enough star power to cover both Devin Booker and Kevin Durant at the same time. Therefore, I’m projecting a large points total in this one, too, for this third leg of my NBA same-game parlay predictions.

Leg 3 SGP Pick: Over 225.5 Points (-110)

Torrey Craig 3-Pointers Made

Torrey Craig has been money from 3-point range in this series. He’s shooting a really strong 62.5 percent from deep and averaging 3.3 threes per game.

Since the Clippers’ game plan has focused on containing the two Suns superstars, Craig has been left open from 3-point range far too often. When a shooter is as hot as Craig, giving him free looks from behind the arc isn’t the best idea. However, the Clippers have no choice but to pick their poison with the whole series at risk.

For tonight’s NBA picks and parlays, I’ll go with Craig having yet another great night, and the odds for him hitting three 3-pointers really boost the odds of this parlay.

Leg 4 SGP Pick: Torrey Craig 3+ Three Pointers Made (+200)
