Game 1 was bad news for the Boston Celtics, dropping the first game of the series at home for the second time in a row. This time it came against the Miami Heat, who have seemingly worked out their struggles of the regular season to steamroll their way through the playoffs up until this point.

Led by Jimmy Butler's impressive 35-point performance, the Heat emerged victorious, giving them the advantage in the series with a pivotal Game 2 on the horizon. Boston have faced their fair share of challenges in this year's postseason and will now need to rally once more to come from behind in a series.

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Injury Report

In terms of injuries, the Boston Celtics have only Danilo Gallinari listed on their injury report, while the Miami Heat will be missing Victor Oladipo.

The name everybody will be watching though is Tyler Herro, who was ruled out of Game 1 with a hand injury. Although his availability for Game 2 remains uncertain, there is hope that he might make a return at some stage during the series.

Heat vs Celtics Prediction

The Celtics faced a disappointing setback in the opening game of the series. Despite establishing a double-digit lead before halftime and appearing to have control of the game, Miami's strong third-quarter performance propelled them ahead, and Boston ultimately surrendered the game.

The notable factor in the second-half display was the significant experience imbalance between the two coaches. While Joe Mazzulla has done an impressive job as the Celtics' rookie head coach, Eric Spoelstra, a two-time NBA champion with coaching experience dating back to 2008, showcased his expertise and made crucial adjustments that played a key role in Miami's victory.

During the third quarter, Boston allowed a staggering 46 points without utilizing a single timeout, allowing the Heat to make their comeback. In contrast, when the Celtics began the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run, Spoelstra promptly called a timeout, highlighting his ability to manage the game effectively. Boston now faces an uphill battle and must secure a victory on Friday night to avoid the potential sweep as they head to Miami.

On a positive note, the Celtics played a strong game offensively. Tatum was a force driving inside and hit 11-11 free throws, while Jaylen Brown had 22 and Derrick White hit 3-5 three's coming off the bench.

Defensively, Boston struggled to contain the Heat, who shot an impressive 52% from beyond the arc, with six different players hitting at least two three-pointers even without Tyler Herro, one of their primary three-point shooters.

To stay competitive against Spoelstra and the Heat throughout the series, Boston must tighten up their defense and utilize their timeouts more effectively. As Miami aims to extend their advantage on the road and Boston finds themselves in a critical situation early in the series, here are my NBA same game parlay predictions for Game 2.

Best NBA Same Game Parlay Picks Today for Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics - NBA Playoffs Game 2: 3-Leg Parlay Picks (+400)

Spread Bet

The Boston Celtics go into Game 2 as an 8.5 point favorite at home despite dropping the first game of the series just a couple of nights ago. In my NBA picks and parlays for the series opener I claimed that the large gap in experience between coaches would play a role in the series, and it did.

Spo is one of the best in the league right now, if not the best, and he proved it by analyzing what the Celtics were doing every time they went on a run and making the relevant adjustments.

Miami demonstrated their adaptability by making crucial adjustments during the halftime break and once again early in the fourth quarter when they felt the pressure from Boston.

I just don’t believe that Spoelstra will allow Boston to run away with the game and win it by nine or more points. His timing with calling timeouts and use of tactics is instrumental to the Heat's success, and I think he keeps it close this time around too.

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Miami Heat +8.5 (-105)

Jimmy Butler Points Total

Playoff Jimmy seems to get better and better as each round of the playoffs progresses. He put in yet another outstanding performance to help the Heat claim the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals.

When building an NBA same game parlay for the upcoming game, Jimmy Butler undoubtedly tops the list. In the previous game, he showcased his scoring prowess by dropping 35 points, a notable feat for him, including two successful three-pointers, which is rare sight for him. Additionally, Butler aggressively attacked the basket, earning himself 10 trips to the free-throw line, where he converted nine of his attempts. Remarkably, he accounted for over half of the team's free-throw attempts in the game.

It's no secret that the Heat's success heavily relies on Jimmy Butler. Both coaches and all the players on the floor are well aware of his importance, yet stopping him seems to be an arduous task.

Jimmy Butler is one of the most determined guys in the NBA, and I think he clears 25+ points in Game 2 without too much trouble.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: Jimmy Butler 25+ Points (-115)

Jayson Tatum Points Total

It might be a little cliche to go for the two biggest scorers in the series, but Jayson Tatum’s 30 while only shooting one three gives me hope that he might find a little more consistency in this series.

Tatum was aggressive driving inside and forcing contact to generate free throws, and while the Heat did a good job forcing him off of the three point line, we all know that if Tatum gets hot he can make several threes in a very short window.

I’ll round out today's NBA picks and parlays with the Boston Celtics forward hitting 30+ again and Celtics fans will be hoping that's enough to level the series at one-a-piece.

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Jayson Tatum 30+ Points (-115)
