Philadelphia Phillies to beat Miami Marlins

The Phillies won the first game of this series 8-3 on Tuesday to rack up their 14th win of the season at Citizens Bank Park.

On the mound for Philadelphia on Wednesday will be Zach Eflin, who is 2-2 through eight starts this season with a 3.86 ERA.

He faces a tough pitching matchup in the second game of the series, with early NL ROY candidate Trevor Rogers starting for Miami. The southpaw has been very impressive in going 5-2 on the season to date, with a 1.84 ERA.

The Marlins offense is a problem, though – their bats rank in the bottom third in MLB for all of the major statistical categories, and they have scored an average of just 2.8 runs over their last 10 games.

This looks like good value considering Philly’s home form and Miami’s inability to get runs on the board.

Chicago Cubs to beat Washington Nationals

The Cubs have comfortably won the opening two games of this four-game set, becoming just the second team in the big leagues to reach 15 home wins this season.

Jake Arrieta gets the start for Chicago on the back of his best outing this season, giving up only two runs over six complete innings against Detroit on May 14. He is 4-3 with a 4.10 ERA.

The Nationals will hope that ace Max Scherzer can get them the win on Wednesday, but he hasn’t been totally dominant this year despite a low 2.10 ERA.

Washington is 5-3 on Scherzer starts this year, with all three of those losses coming on the road. As a team, it is 7-12 away from Nationals Park.

Chicago’s strong form at Wrigley Field and Washington’s poor form away from D.C make this a value play worth looking at on Wednesday.

St. Louis Cardinals to beat Pittsburgh Pirates

St. Louis bounced back from a sweep at the hands of San Diego to take game one of this two-game series between the top and bottom teams in the NL Central.

It should have little trouble securing a sweep of its own on Wednesday, with MLB wins leader Jack Flaherty on the mound.

After a no-decision on season debut, Flaherty has earned the win on his last seven straight starts, giving up just 10 runs in that time. He is now 7-0 with a 2.47 ERA.

Starting for Pittsburgh is Trevor Cahill, who is 1-4 on the season with a 5.97 ERA.

This looks a routine win for the Redbirds, who are 13-8 at home and already own one sweep against the Pirates this season.

Seattle Mariners to beat Detroit Tigers

The Tigers are seeking a sweep of this three-game series after a no-hitter from Spencer Turnbull on Tuesday, but may struggle to follow that up in the decider.

Scheduled starter Tarik Skubal is still searching for his first decision of the season after eight starts. He is 0-6 with a 5.73 ERA, while Detroit is just 7-14 on the road.

Seattle will hope to see improvement out of rookie Logan Gilbert, who took the loss in his MLB debut against Cleveland on May 13.

He should have an easier time against a Detroit offense that ranks in the bottom three in the majors for average, on-base, and runs scored.

The Mariners are just 3-7 over their last 10 but remain above .500 at home and it’s worth backing them to end this seven-game homestand with a fourth win.
