USA Group Stage Points

Group B of the World Cup has England as the heavy favorites to win the group at -225, while both the USA and Wales are +500.

The USMNT World Cup odds of winning the tournament might be set at +12500, but their chances of getting to four points in the group stage at odds of +275 feels like great soccer betting.

With games against Iran and Wales, you would hope that the USMNT can manage a win, if not two, and at the least secure a win and a draw, which would cover the four points, without even factoring in their chances of keeping England to a tie or even stealing a win against them to top the group.

The Pick: USA to reach 4 group stage points (+275)

USA Top Goal Scorer

The USMNT have a very underrated roster, especially going forward. This could be a breakout tournament for the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Giovanni Reyna, but I like backing Christian Pulisic to lead the team in goals.

Pulisic has a point to prove, having been out of favor for Premier League club Chelsea recently. As the leader of the US soccer team, don’t be surprised to see the young attacker come good for his country and help them advance to the Round of 16.

The Pick: Christian Pulisic to be USA top goalscorer (+300)

USA vs Wales

The USMNT's opening game of the tournament comes against Wales, and these are the two most likely Group B sides to battle for a place in the round of 16 alongside England.

This is arguably the USA’s most important group game. If they lose, they’re going to be up against it for the remainder of the group stage, so don’t expect them to play too loose at all. The same is true for Wales, leading me to believe this will be a low-scoring affair. If the USA wins this opening game, then their World Cup odds to advance to the round of 16 will be slashed.

Wales have only scored more than one goal in one of their last eight games, while the USA have only done so once in their last five, when they scored five goals against Grenada.

The Pick: USA vs Wales under 2.5 goals (-200)
