Best World Cup Soccer Parlay Bets during Group Stage Today

Nothing hits quite like a same game parlay, and what better time than the 2022 World Cup? Qatar opens the tournament against Ecuador, followed by non-stop soccer action for a whole month.

Brazil might be the favorites for the tournament, but today we’re focusing on our favorite soccer picks and parlays for the group stages. Will the USMNT find the net more than once and beat Wales in their opening game? How many goals could Argentina score against Saudi Arabia? And how will the European teams fare against some tough African opposition? Portugal face Ghana, Netherlands go head-to-head with Senegal, and Switzerland go up against Cameroon on opening weekend.

Let’s get into today's free soccer picks for the group stage of the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Senegal vs Netherlands Predictions and Same Game Parlay Picks

Netherlands will face Senegal in the opening game of their World Cup campaign. Senegal won the African Cup of Nations back in February with a penalty shootout victory over Egypt. The game is taking place on Monday, 21 November 11:00am EST at the Al Thumama Stadium.

The core of Senegal’s team is experienced and extremely talented, even without injured star forward Sadio Mane. Idrissa Gueye marshals the midfield, with Chelsea center-back Kalidou Koulibaly and club teammate Edouard Mendy in goal both taking charge in defense.

This is no easy game for the Dutch, but they will enter the tournament confident, having scored 33 goals and only lost one game in their 10 World Cup qualifiers. Memphis Depay was the overall top goalscorer in qualifying but has been facing injuries and fallen out of favor at Barcelona. His status is not yet confirmed, but he did return to a full training session ahead of the Netherlands opening game this week.

The Dutch will need Depay’s services if they want to advance through the tournament, and his limitations are a concern going into Sunday’s game. That said, this is a team that can create a lot of chances with creative players like Steven Berghuis and Steven Bergwijn. I’m going to back the Netherlands to win what will be a fun game, with over 2.5 goals scored.

USA vs Wales Predictions and Same Game Parlay Picks

The USA must open strong against Wales in order to avoid a mountain to climb in progressing beyond the group. Wales is the must-win game. With England the favorites to win Group B by quite some margin, it’ll likely be between the USMNT and the Welsh to battle it out for the additional qualifying spot. Beating Wales would give the USA the best chance of doing that. The game is taking place on Monday, 21 November at 4pm EST in the Al Rayyan Stadium.

Neither team heads into the tournament in fine scoring form, so a low-scoring prediction feels appropriate here. The threat of Gareth Bale is ever looming even though he’s in the twilight of his career. Wales also possess some speedy young talent going forward in Daniel James and Brennan Johnson.

That said, I believe the USA could outperform the Welsh in midfield. Weston McKinnie and Tyler Adams can control the possession and therefore give the USMNT an edge, creating additional chances for Christian Pulisic and the other attacker players going forward

This is a big game for both teams, so it’ll be very tactical and somewhat conservative, but I’ll take the USMNT to take the lead, forcing Wales forward. At that point, the USA grab a second goal to put the game away. The USA are young and energetic, and it could be too much for Wales on the day.

Germany vs Japan Predictions and Same Game Parlay Picks

Germany have featured in some high scoring games so far in 2022. They put five past Italy back in June during the Nations League and tied 3-3 with England on the final match day. The Germans are certainly capable of scoring goals, but the loss of Timo Werner to an ankle injury may hinder them in the goals department slightly. The game is taking place on Wednesday, 23 November at 8am EST in the Khalifa International Stadium.

Werner scored eight goals in qualifying, tying first for Germany alongside both Serge Gnabry and Ilkay Gundogan. Without him, Kai Havertz is likely to take up the front man role.

This is a powerful Germany team with a very experienced midfield. Wingers Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry and central midfielders Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller all play together at Bayern Munich and could all start together at the World Cup. That’s a lot of playing time together and could easily overwhelm Japan.

While I wish Japan the best for the tournament, this is a really difficult opening game for them, and the 2-1 loss to Canada in their final warm up friendly doesn’t fill me with confidence. I think Germany win this one comfortably and gather some momentum for the rest of the tournament. This is one of my favorite soccer parlays for the group stages.

Brazil vs Serbia Predictions and Same Game Parlay Picks

It’s all eyes on Brazil as the World Cup gets underway, with the South American side currently having the best World Cup odds to win the tournament. Their first stop will be the opening group game against Serbia. The game is taking place on Thursday, 24 November at 4pm EST in the Lusail Stadium.

The European outfit really impressed in qualifying under head coach and former international player Dragan Stojkovic. Serbia won their qualifying group, finishing above Portugal. They’re an attacking team that plays with a newfound flair, and they’re undefeated in five games going into the tournament, scoring 13 goals in those games.

With PSG forward Neymar and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, this game has the potential for a lot of flair and plenty of goal scoring opportunities. I think we will see some goals with contributions from both sides, even if Brazil steals the win.

Portugal vs Ghana Predictions and Same Game Parlay Picks

Cristiano Ronaldo has been writing headlines for several weeks now with an ongoing battle against his current club Manchester United. In what will likely be his final World Cup, there won’t be many more motivated than the Portuguese footballing legend as the tournament gets underway. The game is taking place on Thursday, 24 November at 11am EST in the Stadium 974.

Portugal has a creative squad with talent from front to back. The defense is anchored by Manchester City duo Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo, and there are not many teams with more attacking options than Portugal. Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leao and Joao Felix all offer immense talent going forward, and of course, it’s all spearheaded by a Ronaldo with a point to prove to the world that even at the age of 37, he can still dominate the world stage.

As for Ghana, it’s a new-look squad following a dismal performance at the African Cup of Nations earlier this year. The head coach was fired, and the squad rebranded, and while that may be a good thing for the future of Ghana’s football team, they’re relatively inexperienced.

They’re the lowest ranked team at the tournament, and I’m worried they might stumble a little against a team full of world class talent in their opening game.
