Rangers vs Devils Prediction and Pick

This Metro City rivalry will go to new levels on Tuesday night when the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils take the ice. These two met four times during the regular season, and the Devils won three out of those four games. However, these two are far more evenly matched than it would appear from the season series result. Two of those games went into overtime, and the Devils won the most recent matchup 2-1. Igor Shesterkin will be in goal for the Rangers, while Vitek Vanecek will get the start for the Devils. The two star goalies went head-to-head in all four of the regular-season meetings. This will be the closest matchup in the entire Stanley Cup playoffs’ first round, and I could easily see this series going a full seven games. Nevertheless, the Devils will defend their home ice tonight and take Game 1 in another close one.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: New Jersey Devils ML (-130)

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction and Pick

The Tampa Bay Lightning’s quest to regain the Stanley Cup begins on Tuesday night in Toronto, where the Lightning were already tested twice this season. The teams split their four-game regular-season series. Apart from the Maple Leafs’ 4-1 victory in December, each game was close. While the pressure normally wouldn’t be on the series’ higher seed, it is for Toronto. Despite reaching the playoffs for a seventh straight year, the Leafs still haven’t made it out of the first round since 2004. Hoping for more than just a trip to the second round, Toronto was active at the NHL trade deadline, adding forwards Ryan O’Reilly, Noel Acciari, and Sam Lafferty. They also beefed up their defense by acquiring Jake McCabe, Luke Schenn and Erik Gustafsson. Despite all of those moves, it will be hard for them to go into this series without thinking about their ongoing first-round drought. Just a year ago, Toronto had a 3-2 series lead over the Lightning in the opening round, but Tampa Bay won the next two games and advanced. Winning this first game would be pivotal for Toronto, but after what happened last year, the Lightning are still living rent-free in the Leafs players’ heads. Tampa Bay steals Game 1.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning ML (+125)

Seattle Kraken vs Colorado Avalanche Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Playoffs Betting Lines 4/18
Moneyline: Seattle Kraken (+170), Colorado Avalanche (-200)
Spread: Tampa Bay Lighting +1.5 (-150), Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (+120)
Total: Over/Under 5.5 goals

Seattle Kraken vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction and Pick

Congratulations to the Seattle Kraken, who were able to secure a wild-card berth and make the postseason for the first time in franchise history. What a terrible prize to win, however, because they now have to open the playoffs against what is arguably the hottest team in hockey outside of Boston. Over their final 12 games, the Colorado Avalanche went 10-1-1 to secure the Central Division title – beating out the Dallas Stars by one point. It was a pretty impressive regular-season outcome, given all of the injuries that the Avalanche have faced. The bad news for Seattle is that only Avs team captain Gabriel Landeskog, who missed the entire regular season with a knee injury, won’t be part of Colorado’s quest to repeat as champions. In Landeskog’s absence, center Nathan MacKinnon has carried the load all year for this Avalanche team, as the 27-year-old superstar led Colorado in both points and assists this season. The Kraken have finally arrived in postseason play, but they had better enjoy whatever time they have there, because the brooms are out and ready in Colorado.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Colorado Avalanche win/draw/win (-125)
