It’s a holiday weekend, but hockey doesn’t take Easter off, so we have an absolutely packed schedule in the third-to-last week in the NHL’s regular season. There’s playoff implications in the West, playoff seeding implications in the East, and tons of players battling it out for the NHL’s various awards. There’s tons to watch and tons to talk about.

Cole Caufield to score anytime vs Washington Capitals

Since Martin St. Louis took over as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, the pint-sized powerhouse that is Cole Caufield has been nearly unstoppable. He’s failed to score in the last two straight games, and so far he’s gone two games without scoring twice, and three games without scoring twice. There’s a good chance he busts the slump against a Capitals team that isn’t remarkably strong defensively.

Sidney Crosby to score anytime vs Boston Bruins

The Penguins are slumping a little as we begin to close out the NHL season, winning just three games in their last ten, and they just lost Evgeni Malkin to a suspension for an undisciplined and vicious cross-check.

Sidney Crosby though, is stepping up big time. With five points in the last two games, Crosby just pushed past the 1400 points mark in his career, and with Malkin out he’s going to need to come up big against a very tough opponent for the Penguins to have a chance at winning.

After how the Penguins have performed in the playoffs in recent years, I doubt Crosby wants the Penguins to enter the postseason on a bad note.

Vegas Golden Knights to defeat Edmonton Oilers

No team in the league right now is as desperate as the Vegas Golden Knights. Just on the outside of the playoff picture and looking in, the Golden Knights are trying to chase down either the Dallas Stars or Los Angeles Kings.

Not only are the Golden Knights trying to chase down a playoff spot, they have no choice but to try to get in this year. Their cap situation going forward is a downright disaster with so many gigantic contracts, so they need to make the best out of their $100M roster before the hammer comes down and they need to make some trades in the summer.

The Oilers are playing excellent hockey under Jay Woodcroft, but their goaltending remains unspectacular to say the least, and Mark Stone’s return makes the Golden Knights dangerous once again.

Brady Tkachuk to score anytime vs Toronto Maple Leafs

If there’s one weakness that the Toronto Maple Leafs consistently have defensively, it’s moving players from the front of the net. Combine that with one of the strongest, most effective net-front players in the league, and you have an area of exploitation right there.

The Senators have given the Leafs trouble for a long time in the regular season, despite the fact that the Leafs are very obviously superior, but the Leafs are in playoff mode and I don’t think they’ll allow the Senators to win this one. Tkachuk sneaking into a dead spot in front of the goalie and scoring though? Definitely.
