Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today – Tuesday, March 21st

Brandon Hagel

Tampa Bay Lightning wingman Brandon Hagel had his second career hat-trick on Saturday night and did so in impressive fashion. With the Lightning down 3-2 in the third period, Hagel scored three unanswered goals in to lead Tampa Bay to a 5-3 victory.

When they travel to Montreal on Tuesday night, Hagel will look to pick up where he left off and have another impressive game on the road. The Canadiens have one of the worst defenses in hockey and their 34.10 shots allowed per game is the fourth-most in the NHL. Hagel had seven shots on goal against Montreal on Saturday night. While he likely won’t get another hat trick, expect the wingman to be heavily involved on Tuesday night,.

The Pick: Brandon Hagel over 2.5 shots on goal (+135)

T.J. Oshie

T.J. Oshie has really turned it on over the past few weeks for this Washington Capitals team as he’s scored seven of his 18 goals over the past month. But consistency has been the issue for Oshie this season as he’s disappeared offensively in some games this season.

Luckily for Oshie, he’ll get one of the worst defenses in the NHL on Tuesday night when they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In Oshie’s two appearances this year against Columbus, he’s gone scoreless and then scored twice. As Oshie looks to build some consistency in getting the puck in the back of the net, it’ll start by being more aggressive offensively, and he’ll have that opportunity on Tuesday night.

The Pick: T.J. Oshie over 2.5 shots on goal (+130)

Patrick Kane

After making this player prop pretty much automatic since joining the New York Rangers, wingman Patrick Kane has come down to earth, missing this line in his last three games. For my long-time readers, you'll know that Kane’s over on shots on goal has been my bread and butter.

The Rangers draw a tough matchup on Tuesday night with the Carolina Hurricanes and it’ll be a divisional battle they’ll be looking to win. If they want to do so, they’ll need a big performance out of Kane to help lead the way. The Hurricanes allow 25.82 shots on goals allowed per game, which is the fewest in the NHL.

The juice is low for Kane's total on Tuesday night and rightfully so, it’s a tough matchup and he’s missed this total the past three games. But, we’re going back to the well on Tuesday night with Patrick Kane.

The Pick: Patrick Kane over 2.5 shots on goal (-117)

Tyler Toffoli

Calgary's wingman Tyler Toffoli has been the engine that makes this offense go all season long for the Flames and he will be the guy they’ll look to again on Tuesday night.

The Anaheim Ducks allow 39.09 shots on goal per game, which is the most in the NHL. While Toffoli has only exceeded 3.5 shots on goal in two of his last five games, it’ll be a different story when he faces this inferior Ducks defense on Tuesday night.

The Pick: Tyler Toffoli over 3.5 shots on goal (+110)
