Who is favorite to win NFL Coach of the Year?

Matt LaFleur is the current favorite to win NFL Coach of the Year, with the Green Bay Packers head coach currently +175 on the Betway sportsbook to win the award.

After an embarrassing 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints to start the 2021 season, LaFleur has led the Packers to a 12-3 record after Week 16, the best in the NFL.

With games against the Vikings and Lions to come, LaFleur and the Packers have a great chance to finish the season 14-3 and clinch the top seed in the NFC.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is following up his MVP season in 2020 with another brilliant year, and is currently the favorite to win a second consecutive award.

LaFleur's closest current rival for the Coach of the Year award in the NFL betting is Frank Reich (+300), who is close to leading the Indianapolis Colts to a third playoff berth in four seasons at the helm.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is currently third in the betting at +750, with his team currently top of the AFC North and closing in on a first postseason appearance since 2015.

Also priced at +750 after Week 16 is Bill Belichick, who previously topped the market as the New England Patriots push for a first playoff berth since 2019.

Who won NFL Coach of the Year in 2020?

Kevin Stefanski is the reigning NFL Coach of the Year, after he guided the Cleveland Browns to their first 11-win season since 1994.

As a rookie head coach, Stefanski provided stability for a franchise that had struggled for over two decades, and capped an impressive regular season with Cleveland’s first playoff win in 25 years.

Stefanski gained 25 of the 50 votes for the award, which is presented annually by the Associated Press.

Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott came second in the voting with seven votes, having led his team to a 13-3 record and the AFC East crown.

In third was Brian Flores of the Miami Dolphins, who took a franchise that went 5-11 in 2019 and almost led them to the playoffs with a 10-6 record.

Odds of past NFL Coach of the Year winners

Stefanski is currently +10000 to repeat as Coach of the Year, with the Browns currently 7-8 and sitting bottom of the AFC North.

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh won the award in 2019 and is also currently +10000. Baltimore is second in the AFC North at 8-7 and Harbaugh is a major longshot at this point.

Matt Nagy of the Chicago Bears was the 2018 Coach of the Year, but has no chance this year, with the Bears currently 5-10 and out of the playoff running.

The Los Angeles Rams’ Sean McVay is currently +1600 after being named 2017 Coach of the Year, while the 2016 winner – Ron Rivera – has no chance with his Washington Football Team at 6-9.

Who is favorite to win NFL Coach of the Year?

A familiar face has climbed to the top of the NFL Coach of the Year market.

With his New England Patriots having extended their winning streak to seven games, Bill Belichick is now the +125 favorite to be named Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career.

Belichick’s Patriots currently lead the AFC East and are in a commanding position to push for a first-round playoff bye in the regular season’s final few weeks, having beaten the Buffalo Bills in Week 13.

With rookie quarterback Mac Jones playing lights out and New England’s defense once again looking like one of the league’s most ferocious units, it’s no surprise to see Belichick leading the Coach of the Year odds once again.

Belichick’s last Coach of the Year win came in 2010, when he guided the Pats to an NFL-leading 14-2 record.

Trailing Belichick in the Coach of the Year betting is Kliff Kingsbury (+350), whose Arizona Cardinals remain at the top of the NFC despite being without star quarterback Kyler Murray for four weeks.

The Cardinals are 10-2 heading into a Week 14 match-up with the Los Angeles Rams.

Next in the market is Matt LaFleur (+750) of the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are 9-3, including 5-0 at home, and LaFleur now boasts an impressive 36-9 career regular season record in the NFL.
