After an eventful Week 1, we have one final game tonight on Monday Night Football. Packing Allegiant Stadium for a regular season game for the first time, the Las Vegas Raiders will host the injury-plagued Baltimore Ravens.
Here are four best NFL betting picks for Ravens vs. Raiders on MNF.
Derek Carr interceptions: Under 0.5 -170
We saw Derek Carr take care of the football last season, throwing just nine picks in 16 games.
The Baltimore Ravens, while they had a good defense, did not force many interceptions. Their opponents averaged 0.6 interceptions per game last season, which was tied for the fifth-fewest.
With one of their best cornerbacks in Marcus Peters lost for the year due to injury, the Ravens may have a tough time intercepting Carr tonight.
Lamar Jackson rushing attempts: Over 11.5 -125
There is little doubt that Lamar Jackson is one of the best rushing quarterbacks of all time. In fact, he may be the best.
Last season, Jackson averaged over 10.5 rushing attempts per game. While this is under the prop line, there is reason to believe he will up his rushing attempts.
Not only did the Ravens lose their top running back, their top three all have been lost for the season in a short amount of time. While there are capable runners on the roster, the talent level has dipped, making Jackson’s legs clearly the most dangerous. Expect him to use them often.
Half-time/Full-time: Ravens/Ravens -110
The Ravens have begun to be overlooked a bit following all of their injuries. While they lost talented players, the running back position is the easiest in the NFL to replace. So, we should be able to bet the Ravens with full confidence.
Along with being the better team top to bottom, they also have a track record of starting the season strong. The Ravens have outscored their last five Week 1 opponents by a combined 177-26. This is too large of a differential to ignore and bet against. They have won in dominating fashion, so let’s pick them to do it again.
Mark Andrews anytime touchdown +110
Again, the Ravens are going to move the ball a lot and be in scoring position quite a bit. And again, the team’s top three running backs they thought would be on roster were all recently lost for the season.
Yes, the Ravens will continue being a run-heavy team. However, red zone usage is based on trust. Lamar Jackson’s most trusted target is Mark Andrews. Following his recent big pay day, the Ravens clearly trust him as well. When the Ravens pass in the red zone, expect the ball to go to him.
