NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (+2) at Philadelphia Eagles -110

The Saints are slumping and the Eagles are winning games. However, this line screams recency bias. This is a terrible matchup for Philadelphia.

The Saints give up 3.1 yards per rush, which is the lowest in the NFL. The Eagles will struggle to run the football with success this week, putting the pressure on the arm of Jalen Hurts. Simply, Hurts isn’t a strong enough passer to beat the Saints. This could be a very low scoring game, but the Saints should win outright.

MIAMI DOLPHINS (-3.5) at New York Jets -110

The Dolphins are coming off a strong performance and extra days to prepare for the Jets. Meanwhile, the Jets are starting Joe Flacco at quarterback this week. This may be an upgrade at quarterback for them, but the Dolphins defense is beginning to play better, as is the offense.

With Tua Tagovailoa coming off the sideline to play well last game, look for him to keep the momentum rolling against an inferior opponent.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (-5.5) at Chicago Bears -110

While the Bears are coming off a bye week, the Ravens also had extra time to prepare after playing on Thursday last week.

We have seen rookie Justin Fields struggle under pressure this season, and we also have seen the Ravens bring the pressure constantly. Look for Fields to make a couple of “rookie mistakes” in front of his home crowd.

We should also expect Lamar Jackson to look much better following extra days to get his body right. For someone who is an athletic freak, it can be tough to get your body right on a short week. With extra prep time, he should be back to playing at an MVP level.

DETROIT LIONS (+11) at Cleveland Browns -110

The Lions are flying high after last week, where they didn’t lose, but they also somehow remained winless. While this will be a tough game for them to win on the road, keeping it within 11 points is much more reasonable, especially with how their defense played last week.

Jared Goff is also looking like he could miss the game, and Detroit would be getting an upgrade with Tim Boyle in the lineup. Boyle looked consistent and solid as a backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, and this could be an interesting first NFL start for him.

With the number of injuries the Browns have, look for this to be a hard-fought game.

New York Giants at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (-11) -110

You don’t need me to tell you the history Tom Brady has with the New York Giants. If that wasn’t motivation enough, the Buccaneers are coming off back-to-back losses where much of the blame can be placed on Brady himself.

Playing on Monday Night Football, look for the cream to rise to the top and for the reigning champs to play motivated on prime-time television.
