Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota leads a Falcons offense that’s top 10 in scoring in the NFL, while Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker enters this game on the hot seat ready to prove his worth. Get your popcorn ready for this one, because it’s going to be a show.

Falcons vs Panthers Preview

These two teams met less than two weeks ago and it was one of the highest-scoring games of the season as the Falcons won 37-34 in overtime. Many missed that great game as it got lost in the Sunday madness, but for anyone that had Red Zone on, they saw a lot of this game. While I don’t think this game will be an exact duplicate of what we saw a short time ago, I do think it will be similar and be very high-scoring again.

Falcons vs Panthers Predictions & TNF Picks Week 10

The Atlanta Falcons like to run the football. They rank second in the NFL in rushing play percentage and were successful last time against the Panthers as they rushed for 167 yards. As for the Panthers run defense, they rank 28th in the NFL allowing opposing teams an average of 139.3 yards rushing per game.

The Panthers aim for a more balanced attack and will utilize the run game with D’Onta Foreman while also attacking through the air with wide receivers D.J. Moore and Terrace Marshall Jr., who’s a top waiver wire pickup this week in Fantasy Football.

Both defenses have shown up at times this season, but rarely ever for an entire four quarters. There will be a lot of scoring in this one as both kickers have been very efficient too. Take advantage of a very low total here as no one outside of Falcons and Panthers fans watched these two light it up in Week 8.

The Pick: Over 44 (-110)

This could very well be quarterback P.J. Walker’s last start as an NFL quarterback if things go south. He will be well aware of that. What we also know is that Walker is a natural-born winner. He was a superstar in the XFL who never lost a start and, for a while, was undefeated as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He is, however, coming off of an abysmal performance last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, and was replaced in that game by Baker Mayfield who scored two touchdowns in relief.

Interim head coach Steve Wilks announced on Monday that Walker would be the starter against the Atlanta Falcons and, while he didn’t say it, it’s clear that this could be his last start if things don’t go well. Luckily for Walker, I expect him to light up this Falcons secondary yet again.

The Panthers defense will certainly have their struggles in this game, and the winner of this matchup could very well be whoever scores last. And after allowing 37 and 42 points over the past two weeks, it doesn’t seem encouraging that the Panthers defense will show up this one. But one stop is likely all they’ll need as their offense will be clicking on all cylinders.

The Pick: Carolina Panthers ML (+135)

Best Prop Bets for Thursday Night Football – Week 10

P.J. Walker

You guys all knew this one was coming. If you’ve been following my weekly articles, you'll know by now that I love me some P.J. Walker, and I love, love, love him in this Thursday night matchup.

The Falcons defense allows 406.9 total yards a game to opposing offenses, which ranks 31st in the NFL. Of those, they allow 300 yards per game through the air, as the Falcons pass defense ranks dead last in the NFL.

Add that to a guy whose back is against the wall and has already had success against this Falcons secondary two weeks ago, give me all the P.J. Walker props that you can find.

The Picks:
P.J. Walker over 182.5 passing yards (-105)

P.J. Walker longest passing completion over 31.5 (-120)
P.J. Walker under 0.5 interceptions (+150)
D.J. Moore

D.J. Moore absolutely torched this Falcons secondary in Week 8 as he went for 152 yards and a touchdown off six receptions. He’ll likely draw another matchup against Falcons cornerback Cornell Armstrong, who simply just can’t guard Moore. This will be a matchup that Walker will pick on the entire game.

The Pick: D.J. Moore over 58.5 receiving yards (-115)
Younghoe Koo

I know I said that this game will be a high-scoring one and it will. But that doesn’t mean that these two teams won’t have a few drives that stall out and result in punts or field goals.

The Panthers defense is certainly the better of the two and will slow down this Falcons offense, but won’t stop them. The Falcons are top 10 in red zone efficiency this season and will see some drives ending in only three points.

The Pick: Younghoe Koo over 6.5 kicking points (-115)
