Providence vs Xavier Predictions and Pick

Two of the top teams in the Big East will square off on Tuesday night in what will be a phenomenal game. Xavier will have a tough test ahead of them as they’ll have to try and fill the void of big man Zach Freemantle, who will be sidelined for about four weeks with a foot injury. Freemantle is the team’s second leading scorer and leads all Musketeers in rebounds per game. Backup Jerome Hunter, who’s played some key minutes and given them good production off the bench, will fill in for Freemantle during his absence.

While most teams would likely unravel if their second-leading scorer were to miss a month, luckily for Xavier they have a balanced scoring attack that’s one of the best in the nation. With every starter averaging double-digits, Xavier isn’t just a top-10 scoring team but they’re effective too, as they’re top 10 in effective field goal percentage as well. Their 83.2 points per game ranks fifth in the nation right behind some power houses like Alabama and Gonzaga.

Xavier’s offense has been top-tier and scoring points, even without Freemantle, won’t be an issue, but their defense will need to become a priority. The Musketeers have struggled in that department this season, especially in Big East play as they’ve found themselves in a lot of shootouts.

The Pick: Xavier -4 (-110)

St. Bonaventure vs Richmond Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NCAAB Betting Lines 2/1

Moneyline: St. Bonaventure (+175), Richmond (-205)
Spread: St. Bonaventure +5, Richmond -5
Total: Over/Under 131 points

St. Bonaventure vs Richmond Predictions and Pick

These two teams met about two weeks ago at the Reilly Center in St. Bonaventure where the Bonnies took over the second half. Trailing 23-29 at the half, St. Bonaventure outscored Richmond 48-34 in the second half and would go on to win 71-63.

While the Bonnies had their home crowd backing them in the first matchup, they’ll now travel to Richmond where the Spiders are 9-3. They're significantly better at home, as the majority of their 11 losses have come on the road. Richmond’s Tyler Burton, who’s scored 20-plus points 10 times this season including a 38-point performance, will be a lot better in this matchup as his 15-point performance in the first matchup was a fluke.

The difference and the reason for the Bonnies second-half comeback was Daryl Banks III. The team's leading scorer found a groove as he had 13 of his 20 points in the second half, and Moses Flowers also got hot off the bench as he was 3-4 from three and had 15 of his 20 points in the second half. If Banks can put together two good halves in Richmond and the Bonnies can get production off the bench from Flowers and others, then they could be on their way to a season sweep over Richmond.

The Pick: St. Bonaventure +5 (-110)

Seton Hall vs St. Johns Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NCAAB Betting Lines 2/1

Moneyline: Seton Hall (-120), St. Johns (+100)
Spread: Seton Hall -1, St. Johns +1
Total: Over/Under 143 points

Seton Hall vs St. Johns Predictions

In their first meeting back on New Years Eve, Seton Hall absolutely controlled proceedings. While the Pirates only led by five at the half before pulling away to win 88-66, Seton Hall controlled the game from a tempo standpoint. St. John’s, who love to run and push the tempo, played at its slowest pace of Big East play yet as the game totaled 71 possessions.

Seton Hall took advantage of a slower-paced game that fit more of their style and executed it well, shooting 54.1 per cent and scoring 42 in the first half and 46 in the second half as they remained consistent throughout the entire game.

On the road in Queens, though, with the Johnnies' backs against the wall in a must-win game for them to keep their March hopes alive, the script will flip from their first matchup. St. John’s has the talent to win this game and even win or make a good run in the Big East this season. Junior guard Posh Alexander is expected to return from an ankle injury on Wednesday night and will provide an instant boost.

The Pick: St. John’s ML (+100)
