Best NBA Player Prop Bets Today: Thursday, February 2nd

Heat vs Knicks Player Prop Bets

Julius Randle

The Miami Heat have been one of the league's best-performing teams this season against the power forward position. They’re allowing just over 20.5 points per game against PFs, which makes for the fifth-best performance in the league.

The Heat are a tough, gritty team defensively and, while they might not rank in the top 10 on field goal percentage allowed or three-point percentage allowed, they are tied first in the NBA for field goal attempts. Quite simply, the Heat make it difficult for you to shoot. They will suffocate you on the defensive end, and against Julius Randle this will be no different. Randle will be forced into taking shots under pressure and for a player that’s known to struggle from time to time anyways, there’s plenty of opportunity here in the betting market.

The Heat are allowing the second least points per game in the league this season, and I believe they’ll keep Randle in check at the Garden, on Thursday night.

The Pick: Julius Randle Under 24.5 Points (-110)

Lakers vs Pacers Player Prop Bets

Lebron James

The Indiana Pacers are one of the worst teams in the league in rebounding. They are bottom five in opposition rebounds per game, and bottom two in offensive rebounds per game, allowing 12.2 per contest.

Lebron is averaging 9.4 rebounds per game in January. It’s important to highlight that he has only come in under the 7.5 rebound line once in the entire month, when he had seven against the Atlanta Hawks on January 7th.

Since then, Lebron has hit eight or more rebounds in every game, including nine against the Boston Celtics just a couple of games back, who are a top five team in opposition rebounding.

The Lakers are the second-best team in the NBA in terms of defensive rebounds, creating a very favorable matchup against the Pacers. I feel good about backing Lebron to clear the 7.5 line here.

The Pick: Lebron James Over 7.5 Rebounds (-130)

Hornets vs Bulls Player Prop Bets

Terry Rozier

Terry Rozier has gotten better and better from behind the three-point line as the 2022-23 season has gone on. With the Hornets struggling, Rozier is taking more opportunities from deep, increasing his three-point attempts per game total from 6.6 in December to 9.1 in January.

Rozier is averaging 3.5 three-point makes per game and shooting 38 per cent from three in January, a serious improvement on his December mark of 31.5 per cent, and November's 28.6 per cent. He’s taken at least eight three-point attempts in his last seven games, including three outings with at least 10 shots from behind the line.

The Chicago Bulls rank just outside the top 10 on shot attempts per game, but allow the fourth most shots from three, meaning Terry Rozier might get some good looks in Chicago on Thursday night.

Rozier led the Hornets with 28 points against the Bulls just a few days ago on January 27th, hitting four of eight threes on the night.

The Pick: Terry Rozier Over 2.5 Three Pointers Made (-125)

Pelicans vs Mavericks Player Prop Bets

Spencer Dinwiddie

The New Orleans Pelicans are the second-best team in the league this season in perimeter defense. The offense is struggling without Zion, with Brandon Ingram out of rhythm and the Pelicans scrambling to find their flow. Luckily for them the defense is holding its own.

Luka Doncic enjoyed a 53-point night last time out against the Detroit Pistons, but the Pelicans won’t be giving him as many good looks as Detroit did. Luka was 17-24 for a huge 70 per cent field goal percentage on the night, but the last time he faced the Pelicans on January 8th, he hit 10-23 for a 43.5 per cent day.

Luka still ended up with 34 points, but largely because the Pels couldn’t stop fouling him, allowing him to shoot 15 free throws. His point spread ahead of Thursday's game sits at 34.5, which is a tough call, but Spencer Dinwiddie stands out from the crowd as a great alternative.

Dinwiddie had a rough night from deep against the Pistons, going 0-6 from behind the line and finishing the game with 12 points. However, prior to that game, he’s hit 20+ points on eight occasions in January, including two back-to-back nights of 35 and 36 points on January 27th and 29th against the Suns and the Jazz.

The Mavs point guard should get a few good looks at the free throw line, and with so much focus on Luka after his dominant 53 point performance, I like Dinwiddie to have a big night in a supporting role.

The Pick: Spencer Dinwiddie Over 19.5 Points (-110)
