Best NBA Player Prop Bets Today – Thursday, January 26

Julius Randle

Julius Randle is one of the more underrated players in basketball. He’s averaging 24.6 points and 10.9 rebounds per game and his name is rarely mentioned when talking about some of the best big guys in basketball. He’ll now draw a top-10 Celtics defensive team that’s weakness is defending the post. While the Celtics are ninth overall in points allowed per game, they allow the 10th most points in the paint.

In their first matchup this season, Randle went for 29 points and nine rebounds on an off shooting night. Head coach Tom Thibodeau knows that if his team wants to remain competitive in this game, they’ll have to lock down defensively and attack the post with Randle. Knicks backup center Isaiah Hartenstein has had one double-double this season and it came against the Celtics in their first meeting. Not taking anything away from Hartenstein, but Randle is significantly more talented. Randle takes advantage of this Celtics interior defense and redefines the definition of bully ball on Thursday night.

The Pick: Julius Randle over 37.5 points and rebounds (-120)

Quentin GrimesI know after this article, you might not believe me that the Boston Celtics are a top-10 defense as I’m picking out so many flaws, but I promise you that overall they are. While their post defense is a true weakness, defending the three-pointer is also a weakness of theirs as they allow the seventh most three-pointers made per game.

When it comes to shooting the three-ball for this Knicks team, Quentin Grimes is their guy. While Randle leads all Knicks players in three-pointers made per game, and Jalen Brunson leads all Knicks players in three point percentage, Grimes is still their go-to for shooting the three-ball. In the month of January, Grimes has had over 1.5 three pointers in 10 out of their 12 games. In a game where the Knicks will need scoring to keep pace with the second-best scoring team in the league, expect Grimes to help them keep pace with a few threes.

The Pick: Quentin Grimes over 1.5 three pointers made (-175)

Luka DoncicThis Mavericks team truly goes as far as Doncic goes. Not only does he lead all Mavericks players in points per game with 33.8, but he leads all Mavericks players in rebounds per game with 9.1 and assists per game with 8.6. MVP? Absolutely, and the fact that he’s not getting the clear-cut respect as the league’s best player this year is baffling in itself.

While this isn’t a fact, if there were one team in the NBA that Doncic would want to face it would probably be the Phoenix Suns. After their playoff series last year with Booker and Doncic going at it, Suns fans getting involved and ultimately the Suns just poking the bear, this is a true rivalry now. In his 14 career games vs. the Suns, Doncic has scored over 25 points nine times, has had a double-double three times and a triple-double once. In what will be a hostile environment in Phoenix tonight, expect a big performance from Doncic.

The Pick: Luka Doncic over 53.5 points, assists and rebounds (-120)
