New York Mets to beat Baltimore Orioles 

The Mets lost the opener of this two-game set 10-3 on Tuesday but have a great chance to head home with their 30th win here.

Starting for New York is Taijuan Walker, who is putting together one of the best seasons of his career, going 4-2 through 10 starts with an impressive 2.17 ERA.

He is coming off a loss in his most recent outing against the Padres last week, but has given up just 34 hits over 54 innings, including only two home runs.

On the mound for Baltimore will be Matt Harvey, who is 3-6 on the season with a 6.62 ERA. Harvey has not gone past the fourth inning in any of his last six starts, taking the loss in five of those.

Baltimore’s offense is hot, having scored 28 runs over their last two games, but Walker has not given up more than four runs this season and should get the job done on Wednesday.

Boston Red Sox to beat Houston Astros 

The Astros won 7-1 in the first of this three-game series on Tuesday, but will be at a significant disadvantage on the mound in game two at Fenway.

Jake Odorizzi gets his third start since returning from injury for Houston, having taken the loss in his most recent game against Boston on June 3. The right-hander gave up three runs on four hits and issued three walks in just three innings at Minute Maid Park.

Odorizzi should return to the form that made him an All-Star in 2019 at some point, but it feels as though Wednesday could be another tough outing for him as he works his way back.

Houston’s task is not made any easier by the presence of Nathan Eovaldi on the mound for Boston. His seven wins are tied for second in MLB, with three of those coming in his last three starts.

Eovaldi has given up just four runs in that time and has been taken deep just twice in his 12 starts to date.

Tampa Bay Rays to beat Washington Nationals 

Tampa is one of the hottest teams in baseball right now and could secure its league-leading 40th win on Wednesday.

The Rays have won seven of their last 10, including a 3-1 win over Washington on Tuesday.

Impressive rookie Shane McClanahan gets his eighth start of the season, having gone 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA.

On the mound for Washington is Patrick Corbin, who is enduring a tough 2021 campaign to date, going 3-5 with a 6.28 ERA.

Corbin has taken the loss in his last two starts, and has given up 34 hits over his last five.

The Rays should get plenty of traffic round the bases against Corbin, and there are few better teams at bringing runners home in MLB right now, with Tampa ranking third for runs scored on the season.

Chicago White Sox to beat Toronto Blue Jays 

The White Sox are living up to their billing as potential World Series challengers this season, sitting four games clear at the top of the AL Central with a 37-23 record.

They have now won seven of their last 10 after a 6-1 win over Toronto on Tuesday, and will look to wrap up the three-game series behind the arm of Lance Lynn.

Lynn has been lights out this season – he is 7-1 through 10 starts with a 1.23 ERA, which is among the lowest in the majors.

He has earned the win in his last three starts and also in six of his last seven, having taken his only loss of the season on April 15.

Rookie Alek Manoah gets the tough start for Toronto. Following a win in his major league debut against the Yankees, Manoah lasted just 3.1 innings against Miami last week in a no-decision.

Keeping quiet a Chicago offense that ranks in the top five in the majors for average, OBP, OPS, and runs might be too much to ask of the 23-year-old.
