Toronto Blue Jays to beat Texas Rangers

The Rangers went into the All-Star break with a 35-55 record, 10 games adrift at the bottom of the AL West, and they face a tough series here on the road against the Blue Jays.

Toronto is 45-42 on the season and remains in playoff contention despite a recent run of six defeats in 10 games.

The Blue Jays have a clear advantage on the mound for this one as Robbie Ray gets the start. He’s 7-4 this season with a 3.13 ERA and is coming off his best start of the season. He allowed just one hit and one walk in seven scoreless innings against the Tampa Bay Rays, with 11 strikeouts.

He faces Texas starter Jordan Lyles, who is on a run of three successive wins but has a 5-5 record this season and a 4.86 ERA.

Los Angeles Dodgers to beat Colorado Rockies

Injuries and inconsistency have plagued the Dodgers throughout the season so far, but the defending World Series champions still boast a 56-35 record and are two games back in the NL West.

Los Angeles won back-to-back games against the Arizona Diamondbacks heading into the All-Star breaks and can start to put a run together by beating the Rockies, who are fourth in the NL West with a 40-51 record and have lost six consecutive meetings with the Dodgers.

Starting for Colorado will be Antonio Senzatela, who has a 4.58 ERA, is 2-8 on the season and is winless in his last six starts. The right-hander took the loss in both of his starts against LA this season, giving up a combined 11 earned runs in just 5.3 total innings.

The Dodgers will start Julio Urias, who has an impressive 11-3 record and a solid 3.64 ERA. In his last trip to Colorado to face the Rockies he went seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits.

Seattle Mariners to beat Los Angeles Angels

The Mariners took a three-game home series against the Angels 2-1 just before the All-Star break and now look good value in the first of this three-game set in Los Angeles.

A run of seven wins in 11 games has lifted Seattle to 48-43 on the season, three games clear of the Angels in third in the AL West.

Although the Angels have won seven of their last 10 games, they should find it difficult here up against Mariners starter Chris Flexen.

The right-hander is 8-3 on the season and hasn’t taken a loss in his last six starts. He has a 3.51 ERA and went seven scoreless innings against the Angels last time out, giving up just three hits.

Flexen faces Andrew Heaney, who has taken three losses in his last four starts to move to 5-6 this season with a 5.38 ERA. He lasted just 3.1 innings last time he faced the Mariners, giving up four runs on six hits.

Oakland Athletics to beat Cleveland Indians

The Indians are coming off a 3-0 sweep of the Kansas City Royals, but they had lost seven consecutive games prior to that series and now face a tough road trip to Oakland.

The A’s are 52-40 on the season and won three of their last four games before the All-Star break, and they have a major advantage on the mound in this one.

Starting for Oakland will be Chris Bassitt, who is 10-2 on the season and 5-0 in his last seven starts. He gave up one run on four hits across seven innings last time out against the Rangers.

The Indians will hand the ball to rookie Eli Morgan, who is enduring a tough first season in the majors. He’s 1-3 through five starts so far and has a 8.44 ERA, having given up 20 runs in 21.1 total innings.
