Best NBA Player Prop Bets Today: Tuesday, March 21st

Cavaliers vs. Nets Player Prop Bets

Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell is averaging 28.5 points per game so far in March, but he has posted three low-20s totals over the past three games. Mitchell is a boom-or-bust type of offensive scorer who will either give you 20 points or shoot up towards 40. Tonight, I favor him hitting the higher end against the Brooklyn Nets.

Mitchell is shooting a high volume -- with over 23 field-goal attempts per game and almost nine 3-pointers so far this month. The Nets, meanwhile, sit just outside the top five in points allowed against shooting guards this season.

The Cavaliers guard has been off from 3-point range in recent weeks, but great shooters don’t stay cold forever, so we’re getting in low on Donovan Mitchell and expect him to clear the over tonight in Brooklyn.

The Pick: Donovan Mitchell Over 26.5 Points (-110)

Spurs vs. Pelicans Player Prop Bets

Trey Murphy III

Trey Murphy is a name on the rise right now, playing more minutes in March than he has all season with the New Orleans Pelicans. The young forward is up to 36.4 minutes per game so far this month, compared to his 28.6 total in February, and his shooting volume is up with the increased playing time.

Murphy is averaging nine 3-pointers attempted per game this month including a 9-for-14 night for a 41-point total against the Portland Trail Blazers just four games ago. Having put up at least 10 threes in three of his last four games, Murphy will now face the San Antonio Spurs, who allow a league-high shooting percentage from behind the arc.

The Pelicans forward should get a lot of looks tonight and Murphy has the green light to shoot a wealth of 3-pointers. I therefore have him covering the 2.5 threes-made spread comfortably this evening.

The Pick: Trey Murphy III Over 2.5 Three’s Made (-140)

Thunder vs. Clippers Player Prop Bets

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Shai has been an overs machine in recent weeks, clearing his total 14 times in the past 17 games in which he has played at least 30 minutes.

The Thunder guard is averaging 39.9 points per game in his last seven appearances, helping Oklahoma City win five of its last six. SGA had 40 points against the Phoenix Suns in the Thunder’s last outing, and his line is set at 31.5 for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers have not performed well against opposition guards since they acquired Russell Westbrook, and that creates a great opportunity for Shai to go off once again in back-to-back appearances.

I have the young Thunder star at around 34 points for tonight’s game and would also happily take a milestone line at 35 for slightly improved odds.

The Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 31.5 Points (-110)

Pistons vs. Hawks Player Prop Bets

James Wiseman

This is my favorite pick of the week. For starters, James Wiseman has found a starting role with the Pistons, and he’s finally getting a consistent run of health. He has averaged 14.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per game so far this month.

Over his last six games Wiseman has cleared 10 rebounds four times and reached nine in the other two. Tonight, he faces an Atlanta Hawks team trying to find its shooting rhythm. Offensively, Atlanta has been one of the league's worst-performing teams in recent games.

Against a beaten-up Pistons team, I expect to see the likes of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray try to shoot their way out of a slump. Atlanta is shooting 29 percent from 3-point range in its last three games, while the Pistons are shooting a league-low 43 percent from the field over that same stretch.

Wiseman should have the opportunity for plenty of boards on the defensive end and might pick up a couple of bonus rebounds on the offensive side, too.

The Pick: James Wiseman Over 9.5 Rebounds (-144)
